ABOUT US
OUR SMALL FAMILY RANCH
Our 200 acre ranch, nestled in the hills of the Santa Ynez Wine Country, is home to all of our animals.
We are first generation ranchers who share a passion for regenerative farming, responsible land stewardship, animal welfare and high quality food. We were born and raised in California, Michael from Santa Maria and Halli from Santa Rosa and have been in the fields for 10+ years learning and working on regenerative ranching and animal welfare.
We strongly feel that community is an important aspect of our lives, doubly so for localized food sources, which is why we feel compelled to provide the highest quality meat for ourselves and our community.
Thank you for stopping by, feel free to text or call if you have any questions about our ranch or animals!

Pasture Raised Chickens
We have chosen the FREEDOM RANGER chickens for many reasons. The main reason being is their optimal health on pasture throughout their lives. This breed takes about twice as long as commercial breeds to reach our desired weight. A longer and more active life leads to “tender, succulent meat with high levels of omega 3 fats and low levels of saturated fat” -according to the Freedom Ranger Hatchery.

Pasture Raised Pigs
We raise Gloucester Old Spots and Idaho Pasture pigs on our old oak pastures. The oak pastures provide natural shade, which helps keep the pigs cool during hot weather. The diverse vegetation in the pastures offers a variety of forage options, contributing to a well-rounded diet for the pigs and potentially enhancing the flavor of their meat. The oak trees also provide opportunities for the pigs to root and engage in natural behaviors, promoting their physical and mental well-being. Additionally, the leaf litter, lichen and acorns from the oak trees can be a source of supplementary food. Rotating the pigs through different sections of the pasture prevents overgrazing and soil compaction, leading to healthier and more resilient land. This practice can improve soil quality, increase carbon sequestration, and reduce the risk of erosion and compaction.

Pasture Raised Turkeys
Our breed of turkeys are known as Bourbon Reds. They are a heritage breed and known to be excellent foragers with a docile and curious nature. They have a slower growth rate than commercial breeds and due to their desire to forage this leads to richer flavored meat.
